Inspiration
Inspired by Hanahaki disease, a flower-vomiting disease originating from Japanese manga, Beauty of Yearning captures the irony that beautiful flowers bloom with grace yet result in death. The bittersweet tragedy is caused by unrequited love, with symptoms including coughing or throwing up petals. If untreated, one dies from suffocation from the growth of flowers in the lungs, heart, or throat.
